I’m a bit of a gypsy. And my husband is a recent convert. My family and some of my friends think we’re a little nutty, but we don’t care. And they usually love us anyway. They just don’t want to live like we do.
We bought our home a year ago, after fixing up a foreclosure and selling it. We had lived in the fixer upper for 3 years when I got the moving bug. It bites me frequently, that moving bug. We were blessed with a large profit, and moved into a larger, newer home with very few, if any, major issues. But what we gained in new-ness, we lost in character. Here is my new challenge. Putting character into a house that is 15 years old, starting to show it’s age, and doing so on a teacher’s budget of money and time.
My husband and I are both teachers. Living on a teacher’s salary and trying to renovate/decorate can be difficult. A challenge. Goodwill is my friend. So is Ross, Hobby Lobby, and Michaels.
Am I a DIYer, or just a girl who loves HGTV? That‘s what I’m trying to figure out. I would love to have some help and advice as I journey to find the answer. I hope you come along for the ride and share your thoughts along the way!
I would guess that watching HGTV has unlocked your inner DIY-er and in due time, your house is going to be an amazing reflection of what you love. Can’t wait to see your dreams unfold!
Hi Ann, glad you’re here. I’m looking forward to following along with your DIY projects!
