? Giving Thanks at the Table ?

I love November. I love that we all take a bit of extra time during this beautiful month to pause and take stock of all of the many blessings we have been given.  Life sometimes seems overwhelming, but when we stop to think of all God has given us, we gain strength to press on during the tougher days.

The decor on our family’s dining table is one of our daily reminders of the goodness of the Thanksgiving season.  This year I am really enjoying my two white pottery pilgrim figurines I found at TJMaxx. I decided to make a Thanksgiving vignette for this season’s table using them and some of my other favorite autumn collectibles. I have enjoyed the mix of redware, antique ceramic corn and wooden acorn salt and pepper shakers and the vintage “Wild Turkey” decanter (also one of my seasonal favorites).  The final touch to the mix is the white baby boo pumpkin.  Don’t you just LOVE white pumpkins!

The other thing that I enjoy so much during this time of year are the simple colors of brown and cream transferware on the Thankgsiving table. Mixing the patterns is a fun way to add interest to the place settings. The finishing touches I added for the place settings this season are leaves brought back from my recent trip to Ohio and the contrast of the layered napkins. The copper leaf side plates I also found at a garage sale for $1 each. ALWAYS thankful for good bargains!  🙂  During a recent day trip to do some antiquing, I also found a box of small vintage scripture cards.  They seemed like the perfect final touch to each table setting.  The words seen in the acorn place holders remind our family that God is at the heart of our thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving season, everyone! And may we remember during the busy season always to  “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good. His love endures forever.” ❤️

Hi Shelley! Your table looks so inviting! It’s a fresh approach to a traditional Thanksgiving setting. I love the acorn note holders. They are adorable! I also like how each dish has a different design and yet you have kept the same color theme. Very unique! Have a Happy Thanksgiving! 🙂
