Enjoying the simple things in life.

I have found in the last couple of years that I am learning to enjoy the simple pleasures in life much more, I don’t take things for granted as I would have probably done in my teens and early twenties.

I enjoy time with my children and husband, walks, reading, tea, my garden, candles, flowers, baths, music and laughter.

I am learning to slow the pace in life and soak up every last second. I work full time and so my time at home seems even more precious to me. I am also learning to use my senses to the fullest, when outside I listen to every sound and one of my favourite pass times is to sit at the very bottom of my garden and listen to the birds singing in the trees. I touch, smell, taste better now. I would much rather have handmade or meaningful gifts gifted to me than lavish expensive tokens.

But above all else I am learning to live each day with a grateful heart.

Amanda xoxo

I couldn’t agree with you more Amanda! It’s the little things in your day that slip away if you’re not present in your life. When I was younger it was always about “tomorrow”, what time I wasted thinking about what’s to come instead of enjoying the present. It’s the simple things…the sun shining, smelling a flower or my favorite tea, seeing and spending time with my family…that’s what it’s all about. Better late than never I guess! 😉

It so is Wendy, it’s taken me a long time to figure this out and I feel I’ve been a little late on this especially as my children are getting older. Here’s to the now x

So well said Amanda! I am in total agreement with you and Wendy! I just read a similar sentiment on Nila’s post. Seems we are all appreciating life and it’s precious moments on this spring weekend. Happy Victoria Day!
