Home Office

Most days I can be found here, in my cozy little home office.  I am fortunate enough to be able to work from home three days a week and have been slowly fixing this space so it accommodates both my job and my favorite hobby – design. 🙂

I think I would like to add white painted planks to the calendar wall, what do you think?

Hi Tonya! I like the planking idea! I think it would add an extra layer of design to your already great looking office space. What a great find with your office chair! I have a few pieces of office furniture from Pottery Barn myself. I priced that similar office chair online at Pottery Barn and they are way expensive!

Thank you for your comments! This space definitely makes long work days seem not so bad. 🙂

Tonya, I really like this space. The light fixture looks really interesting. I had several chairs similar to yours that I bought at a garage sale for $10 each! They were solid elm and made in Quebec. They didn’t rotate though. I loved them and painted some of them a pale green to use with my mahogany dining table. (My version of shabby chic.) The others were given away to friends.
I am not sure about the plank wall as I am not exactly sure what that would be. Would it be like a bead board only running horizontal?
I must say that I really like the calendar wall but how tall are you!? I would never be able to reach the top items. I am so envious of tall people. I was married to a tall man and so my children are tall but now that I live alone I am limited concerning my reach! 🙂

Hi Nancy! I am not tall – I hop up on the desk when I need to reach the top. 🙂 It’s hanging higher than it really needs to, so if and when I do the plank wall I’ll lower it a bit, although I’ll still probably have to stand on the desk. 🙂 The planks I am referring to are basically like shiplap. – wide boards that run horizontally across the entire wall. I love the texture they provide to a space so I think I’m going to go for it. 🙂

Oh yes. I think the shiplap will be just the right touch. I just subscribed to your blog and had a peek at the rest of the room. Love the “Office” sign! Also the design board for your living room. I enjoy so many different design styles and could live very happily in that room.
I work from home as well. I do occasional contract work for my school board and so I make do with my dining room table and some filing boxes. I’ve saved my extra bedroom for my grandkids to sleepover. 🙂 It’s a great trade-off!

Yes, go for the ship lap! It will be a perfect complement to the fresh, organized look going on here.

I adore ALL of your house! Every room is so cosy & inviting. I am sure working in this office is such a pleasure! Now I have to go back and look at your other rooms again. So pretty! 😀
