The fixer upper adventure

Transforming a fixer upper -- Plaster & Disaster

How fun! My husband and I bought our first home this past fall, and are so excited to be embarking on this new adventure. It’s in decent shape, but needs a lot of aesthetic work (every room needs to be painted, we have bright blue kitchen countertops, etc). We’ve made it through a few rooms so far, but there’s lots more work to do as we make it our own! At the same time, my friend and I got this crazy idea that we should launch a blog together to chronicle the good, the bad, and the ugly as we both make over our fixer uppers (and work full-time jobs). Thus was born Plaster & Disaster (www.plasteranddisaster.com). So excited to see where the future leads!

Congratulations on your first home! It’s always fun when it’s a fixer upper, and then you can truly call it your own once your finished! I secretly love that detailed ceiling, its unique and adds a bit of character

Good luck on your journey! It looks great so far can’t wait for more 🙂

Thanks Lauren! I definitely wanted a fixer upper, even though my husband was more reluctant. The ceiling seems to be polarizing — some people love it, while it drives me a little crazy. But I’m glad there are yay-sayers out there! 🙂

I love that gallery wall! I have the karlstad and 2 of the covers for it. It fits my husband and I as well as the 3 pets with room to spare! lol It is too big for my current living room so I am on a hunt for something else at the moment.
