Sometimes being lazy can be pretty too!

Yes, I have a jewelry cabinet in the hall to my bathroom. I found that too many nights I wasn’t bothering to put my jewelry away and just dumped it on my dresser.

While shopping a thrift store I found some pretty (cheap!) teacups and decided to make a holding spot for my “stuff,” of course I had to #make it pretty!

I can’t promise that it gets put away every morning …but I try :)

Wow, so pretty and so feminine, Amy. I love thrift-shopping. I just adore the way your bedroom is laid out. The black wall shelf, and the hanging quilts and other things are just so really my style. Love. Pretty teacups. I love all jewelry styles. I would love to raid your jewelry collection.

Thanks Hanh, our house is a cape cod style so there are lots of quirky corners and dormers upstairs. The hanging quilt was my mother in law’s. She has passed so it is a lovely reminder of her. Thank you for your comment!

Amy I love your bedroom! It has so much character. I crave a chair like yours for my own bedroom…it’s on the decorating bucket list. I began using lovely cups and dishes in the same way but I hate housework so I decided to streamline what is on my dressers to make dusting quicker. Still miss the romance of this style though.

Thanks Nancy! I bought that chair about 15 years ago at Goodwill for 5 bucks! I bought a bolt of fabric and tried my hand at slipcovering (don’t look too close!) My husband and I made the ottoman out of plywood and foam and I made the slipcover out of the same fabric. I’ve gotten pretty lazy about those kinds of projects these days..but back then I guess I was more fearless! It doesn’t get much wear and tear in the bedroom so I feel lucky it’s held up!
Oh and I dusted before taking pics…..not that it doesn’t always look this way?

I love the tea cups – what a great idea! I have some old cups and little dishes passed down to me from a great grandmother and I’ve never really known what to do with them. Thanks for the inspiration, Amy! P.S. I love your bedroom – those ceilings and dormers add to so much cozy character!!

Thank you Tonya! You know, I saw another great tea cup idea on The Inspired Room. Melissa did tiny tea cup planters with moss. It was so pretty on her windowsill. Another use for those cute tea cups..have a great night!

Hi Amy! The tea cups are so pretty! Great idea! I love the bottle you chose for hanging your necklaces. You have such a spacious bedroom and it’s laid out so comfortably! It reminds me of a Bed & Breakfast suite! I simply LOVE it! 🙂
