Kitchen Reno Part 1

(kitchen as of this minute)

Here is where we stand today.  It has been 2 weeks since work began.  Since then, a wall came down, cabinets moved around a bit and lighting was completed.  We still have a ways to go.

Here are the pendants from Shades of Light here in Richmond.  The brass brings in the gold from my dining room chandelier.  The gun metal finish will bring in finishes from my kitchen.

Here is the view from the other way.  My family room is on the other side of that plastic tarp.  (this was taken before the lighting was completed).

Ill keep you posted with a Part 2 when the cabinets get refaced, honed granite goes in and appliances are replaced.

My biggest decision left is my bar stools.  I need some suggestions.

I LOVE what you have done so far. I thought your cabinets and granite were new. I really like the cream, white and wood floors. I can’t wait to see the rest!

I’m not sure what you are thinking for bar stools. I would pick something that slides underneath your counter (without a back) as to not break up the view of your kitchen. It looks so large and open! Happy Remodeling!

I love the cabinetry and pendants! If you’re near a Home Goods, I’ve seen some really cool transitional-style barstools recently that are a mix of dark wood (seat) and black metal legs. I keep thinking I need to go get them for our place!

I love everything you’ve done so far! I would also suggest Homegoods for your bar stools. I found some amazing ones there, kind of a linen/nubby kind of fabric with light wood legs. That’s a fun detail to shop for so good luck and enjoy! Can’t wait to see what you end up with.

Oh that is going to be so pretty! What a big kitchen, too, how great is that? I bet you are dying to see it all done and the plastic come down. Remodeling is so messy. Thanks for sharing the progress, I’ll be excited to see it in another update!

How about that cute metal slide under style in a fun color? Stools are pretty noncommittal and it would be a great way to add a little color if you’re into the fun family vibe.

This is just lovely! I am joining the others in saying what a lovely kitchen and what a nice size. I’m looking forward to the updates! Hope all the work goes quickly and easily! 🙂
