First day of Challenge!

I’m reading the book, and thought I’d start with the first challenge today.  I’ve been working in the yard since it’s so beautiful outside after our horrendous winter here in the Northeast.  This is a picture of my screened-in porch where I love to entertain and read.  It’s one of the spaces that I will work to beautify during my home appreciation month.

So for today’s challenge:  My home is truly a blessing, a gift of God and I’ve dedicated it to him by calling it Bethany.  I’ve been living here for 15 years, and it’s been open to paying and nonpaying guests for the whole time.  My house is obviously too big for me alone, but I’ve been using it to host many small groups from church, and also hosting travelers and missionaries in need of a place to rest.  So my whole house has been and continues to be a blessing to me and others.  I personally use only two rooms that are 100% mine, my bedroom and my study.  The rest of the house is shared with everyone else.  So of course these two rooms are my favorite, and I love spending time in them even though they could be improved.

Enjoy your journey! You have such a gracious and hospitable attitude. I hope you can continue to create a space that is welcoming and refreshing for you and your guests. I don’t have the book yet (But I asked for it for mothers day, so heres hoping!) 😉

In all honesty, I really admire your hospitality and your trust in people who frequent your home. For me, I have not problem with sharing my home space, but the thing is, can I trust people. People and people and there are nice ones and there are bad ones, and ones in between. I am glad all of this has worked out for you. As for your two room you have every right to enjoy the space fully. You are such a gracious and generous person. I don’t think I can do the same.

What a lovely story! Your porch looks so restful. I am sure all your guests consider themselves blessed to be there! I am from the Northeast of Canada and I am so glad to finally see springtime arrive! Thanks for sharing! 🙂
