At Home in Seattle

When I first moved from Portland to Seattle, everything felt foreign and new. While I was excited to learn about the city, I was also a bit nervous and unsure if this city could really end up feeling like my home!

I started college at Seattle Pacific University, which was full of exciting experiences with new friends in a new city. I took the ferry every weekend to help plant a church with my family and I got to see the most beautiful views of Seattle. There’s something amazing about seeing your city from afar that makes you appreciate and love it even more!

Now I’ve lived here for over five years and feel right at home. As much as I’ve done here, I also love the fact that I’ve only scratched the surface of all there is to see and do. I’m excited to keep exploring. There is so much to love about Seattle and all of these things are just a small part of what makes it my home. One of my favorite things is how the city is so close to so many absolutely beautiful parks with amazing views. This one is called Carkeek Park, one of my favorites! And it has a beach!

Seattle also has thee greatest restaurants. Bitterroot is one of my faves!

It just wouldn’t be a post about Seattle if I didn’t include a photo of coffee!

Sometimes there are crazy glorious sunsets like this…

I still take the ferry almost every week and try to never take for granted the views I get to see!

As terrified as I am of heights, I can’t wait to ride this ferris wheel soon.

Soon I’ll have to introduce you to some of the people that make Seattle my home, because really, that’s the best part!

Where’s your home? What do you love about it?

I just loved this Courtney. You are so talented with the way you write, keep it up! I moved here 3 and a half years ago from FL. I too have grown to love it. You can’t beat the views, of Rainier, fresh mountain air and smell of the sea. 😀
