A Hint of Winter & New Flooring!!

Happy New Year Everyone! Well, I totally missed showing you Christmas around the House! I was so busy with work and couldn’t find a Sunny day in between to display a Christmas Tour of our Home! Although . . . I did enjoy seeing all of your homes during the Christmas Season, even though I did not get the chance comment on all of your Beautiful Homes!

Two weeks before Christmas, we decided to tear up the linoleum in our Kitchen and (the well loved for a long time, but definitely dated, moss green carpeting) in our living room and stairwell. I’m so excited about our new flooring!! It now feels like one consecutive living space on our main floor!

Okay, A Hint of Christmas! (Below)This was one of the few photos I took of Christmas! I was so afraid to put a real tree in the family room with the new floor, that we decided to celebrate Christmas Morning on the back porch for the first time. And it was Really Nice!

Also New!! I had purchased this New chair, below, for our living room. This past Fall, I was in search for a chair that I didn’t want to spend a fortune on. Much to my surprise, I found this chair at the right time, from TJ Max. This wall used to have a sofa table against it for quite a few years and I was so ready for a change that would provide an extra seating space. I am very pleased with the size and dimensions of this chair. Perfect!!

Much to my Surprise, I was on Tonya’s Home Decorating Blog site the other day and she was so excited about finding this same exact style chair, but in a light grey color! How ironic, because I absolutely LOVE the style of her home! You might want to check it out @ rusticandwoven.com. Thank you for stopping by!! This year will be a year of changes in our HOME. . . A New Half Bathroom and a New Laundry/ Mudd room!! Your welcome to stop by any time! :)

Hey Maria! Your home is looking lovely! I really like the new flooring. The minute I saw that chair on Tonya’s blog, I knew I wanted one like it for my bedroom. I have been looking for a while now so I may just need to head over to our version of TJMax which is Homesense.
Good to see a new post. I have been delinquent as well lately but will be starting to share soon as well.
    Take care! πŸ™‚

Thank you so much Nancy! It is good to hear from you! Sometimes life just gets too busy! If you can find a similar chair, I think the dimensions for this chair would fit in any room. When I was searching online, I would find that most of the accent chairs were too wide and would have stuck out to far from the wall and they were $200 or $300 more than what I spent on this chair! I’m looking forward to seeing what you will be sharing with us next! Take Care! πŸ™‚

Hi Leah! Thank you!! My floors are actually laminate, made by Mannington. This is from their Restoration Collection. I was steered away from real hardwood floors being that we have pets and a lot of traffic through our house. I am so pleased with the rustic hardwood look and the quality of this flooring. I would definitely recommend this Collection!! I will also be sharing my new kitchen Island soon! Thank you for stopping by! πŸ™‚

Hi, Maria! You were quite busy over the holidays! The changes look great, especially the flooring, and now you’ve got a big comfy chair to curl up in while the blizzard whirls outside. Enjoy

Hi Jennifer! Thank you! Yes, too busy! lol! Although we tore up the old flooring ourselves, we did hire an Installer, but he came out a week later than expected. It was a little too close to Christmas for me, but somehow I made it all come together!! And Yes, ironically, I was just sitting on my new comfy chair drinking coffee and looking out the window at the already fallen snow. We did get a lot and it was really beautiful watching the snow come down the past 2 days. A good excuse to stay home and piddle around the house! πŸ™‚

Hello Maria. I hoped you had a pleasant Christmas and New Year holiday season. I just love your new flooring. Trust me I love wood or real tile flooring just as much as you do. I don’t care how plush or whatever the carpet look is, I just don’t care for carpet at all.. I have lived in carpet-free homes all my life so wood or tile flooring is best. I like the look of understated yet comfortable and charming elegance of your home and the new flooring. I wish you a good year ahead, decorating-wise.

Lovely floors and very inspirational. I’m hoping to get rid of my #10 envelope flooring with lots of carpet and patches of tile. It’s great to see the openness a single flooring creates in a real home similar to mine in size . Great job.

Hi Sandy! Thank you so much! It’s a big compliment to find that I have given some inspiration! πŸ™‚ I have also found that choosing a lighter, more natural color for our new floors has actually made our living space feel a bit larger too. Thank you for stopping by! πŸ™‚
