A Gallery Wall

I started this gallery wall up our stairs a few years ago.

It is a collection of family photos, memories and quotes, and I love catching a glimpse of my nearest and dearest every time I travel up and down my stairs.

I add to it as I acquire new pictures and frames.  Do you have a space like this in your home?

This looks really nice. I have a gallery wall too. I try to choose only very special photos to go on that wall. Just recently I added a metal patina smiling sun that used to be a wind chime. I’m thinking of adding a small wreath and maybe an artistic cross. I’m very pleased with how it has turned out.

I admire your courage in leaving the arrangement open-ended. I tend to conceive my gallery walls in entirety, without room for growth. That’s so smart of you.

Thank you, Diane. I really wanted something that didn’t feel too planned or thought out – I wanted it to feel like it grew along with us throughout our years in this house. Now that it is established, I love how the wall kind of dictates where the next picture will hang instead of me. 🙂

I do have a wall like that in my home but I’ve lately I’m stuck in a rut & don’t like the way it’s set up. I struggle with grouping pictures… It’s my biggest problem in the house. 🙁

This is lovely! My sister and I went on a big Ikea shopping trip yesterday, mostly getting frames so we can hang a few gallery walls in the townhouse we live in! Your stairway is inspiring me to get it done today 🙂

This is a wonderful expression of love! I like to keep my arrangements open to additions as well. It always surprises me when I find something new and although the former arrangement works very well, the new addition seems to help it evolve but still feel complete. Magic!
