Well hello again. I’ll be honest I had forgotten about this little community until Mellisa’s new book found a home on my coffee table. I’ve been a busy bee. We are In the full throws of christmas here in our home and I would love to share some of my decor with you
#blockparty #outdoorspace this is my garden, it is very large for a UK home we have done a lot of work on it in the last few years and my husband built our summer house from scratch himself using reclaimed materials. I love my garden and love to relax in the spring and summer out here and eat outside in warmer weather.
I have been blessed with a week family holiday in the beautiful Welsh Country in the UK. This is Bala Lake top, Barmouth beach bottom and it holds many fond memories for me and my family. So you pack, get excited, go on holiday, have an amazing time making lovely memories and then there is the bitter sweet return home. I put the key in my front door and immediately throw open the windows to air the rooms, and then there’s washing…….tons and tons of washing! I wake up the next morning after returning to my gorgeous comfy bed, my own bed, and there is a pang of sadness that the holiday is over and the gladness to be back in home sweet home. I am in that limbo. I enjoyed a very relaxing holiday that I am so blessed and grateful to have been given and now I am back in my own gorgeous home. All in all I am with the ones I love.
I have found in the last couple of years that I am learning to enjoy the simple pleasures in life much more, I don’t take things for granted as I would have probably done in my teens and early twenties.
I enjoy time with my children and husband, walks, reading, tea, my garden, candles, flowers, baths, music and laughter.
I am learning to slow the pace in life and soak up every last second. I work full time and so my time at home seems even more precious to me. I am also learning to use my senses to the fullest, when outside I listen to every sound and one of my favourite pass times is to sit at the very bottom of my garden and listen to the birds singing in the trees. I touch, smell, taste better now. I would much rather have handmade or meaningful gifts gifted to me than lavish expensive tokens.
But above all else I am learning to live each day with a grateful heart.
I had a vision for my garden to have a seating area with brick BBQ so we can have some summer family memories. My husband is luckily for me vey handy. The top pic is a before of the area and the next two are progress. We still have a way to go and the BBQ isn’t built yet but I will update you all when it is finished. Now if only we could get a little sun…..
Sunday is the only breakfast in our house that is not rushed, I work full time as a teaching assistant and my hubby works full time as a machine setter and my children are in full time school so weekend breakfast in our house is so important to our family. We try to eat together at all meals if possible to regroup and communicate and enjoy each other’s company. Have a great Sunday everyone!
I have been made to feel very welcome in this little community and feel like I’m in the most beautiful, quaint niebourhood with lots of friends, thank you all so much for inviting me so warmly and for giving me inspiration and sharing your homes. I look forward to sharing my little sanctuary with you all
I made this baby set for my friend who was expecting a baby boy in April. #makeitpretty it may not be pretty but it was too cute and so was he!.
This year just gone I added some new eggs to my easter table. These pastel beauties were so simple and subtle yet gorgeous. I will miss them…..until next year!
This is my 13 year old daughters room, she loves the colour mint. She chose accessories that are very her and added personal touches. She loves her room but needs reminding to keep it clean and tidy! Being a mum to a teen is tough! (But I wouldn’t change her for the world)
