I am busy knitting ships, boats and all things ocean themed and nautical in order to βyarn bombβ our local railway station. I am lucky enough to live in Nunthorpe which is the housing estate right next to the one where the great explorer Captain James Cook was born. Captain Cooks birthday is 27th of October so we have decided to have a nautical theme to celebrate his life. They will all be tweeked to within an inch of their lives before we stitch them to the fence at the station. I have made 8 boats and 30 fish so far.
Cheri that is sooo cute! Please take a photo of the fence when you decortate it. This is going to be GREAT! π
Ahoy, Cherie! I can see that knitting really floats your boat! π Have a swimmingly good time with this project! π I would be like a fish out of water if I attempted it! π Ok, I’ll stop now! Seriously, it’s cool that your community “crafters” come together to celebrate in such a unique way. Enjoy!
You did make me smile. π We are having great fun knitting for the yarn bomb. x
What a fun idea, Cherie! Would love to see pictures of the fence when you are all finished with it!
Hi Cherie! You are amazing! I have never seen someone so dedicated to crafting, than you! Your ships and boats turned out so great! π
Love this idea Cherie! So creative! The boats are adorable! I can’t wait to see the pictures of the completed event. You are inspiring me to get back to my rug hooking…I’ve had a break over the summer.
