Small Updates

I bought this beige/off-white table at the thrift store for $20.  I replaced the coffee table in front of the daybed with this table.  So now I can have both: home library and dining room in one.  I don’t like my dining room formal so this relaxed and mellow furniture arrangement works out for me.  In the picture below on the far right I also hung up two mirrors on each side of the french door.  I like how the door turned out.  The french door used to be my front door, but now behind that door is the foyer; the foyer is where the red front door is now.  On the very far right of the french door where you see a bit of yellow curtain is my daughter’s bedroom.  It’s rather inconsequential that I should decorate and tidy up some parts of my house one day before I leave for summer.  I like to come home to a nice and clean home.  I only did this because I am practically done with all the packing.

Thank you Tonya. One of those round tables broke off it’s own leg by my little son, but I fixed it. Whatever style I echo is due to the many pieces of furniture in my home come from the thrift store.

Great buy on the table Hanh! I, too, love to leave my home clean before I travel. It is so nice to come home and not be faced with cleaning cause you know you’ll be busy doing laundry and getting groceries, etc. Have a wonderful summer in California!

Thank you Jennifer. I hope you are resting well, too. The weather in CA is so different from FL The weather can be colder in the morning, and I forgot to pack socks for my toddler son. But it is all well so far. How is summer weather in Belgium, where you are?

Hanh, the weather in Belgium is generally temperate, but very variable; mild winters, cool summers; rainy, humid, cloudy. However, Friday we experienced an abnormal high of 93°, which broke the record for May since back to the early 1900s. That afternoon, most of the country then got heavy rains, and some areas got hail storms. Yesterday it was back to about 75°, and next week it’s supposed to range from low 70s down to high 60s. There always seems to be a breeze/wind in our backyard, no matter what the temperature. Because it rains much more than not, Belgians crowd the outdoor cafes when the sun comes out to take advantage of it while it lasts. If the doctor clears me, we plan to drive south in July to the Provence area in France. It is definitely much hotter there, but we’ll be able to cool off in the swimming pool. I’m looking forward to that!
