Removing built-ins

When we bought our condo, every room had built-ins.  To me, it just made the spaces seem smaller.  So we set out to remove them all and we really liked how it all turned out!  This was the master bedroom – we removed the shelves and painted the accent wall Benjamin Moore Driftwood.

The guest room built-in had to go as well.

Accent wall is Benjamin Moore Desert Twilight.

This was the den.  We removed the shelving and the track lighting.  We painted the walls Benjamin Moore Shelbourne Buff and added can lights.

The hallway had a glass display case and track lighting.  When we removed this, we were able to add a hall closet off to the left.

The dining area was the biggest change.  We removed the built-in and changed the hexagon tray ceiling to square to modernize it.  We also added wood trim and lighting to warm up the space, and hung a chandelier.  We repeated this wood trim where the crown moulding was in the living room with added hidden lighting.  We are really happy with how this turned out and how it compliments our furniture much better!  Accent paint is Benjamin Moore Kingsport Gray.

Your rooms are beautiful. This is a good reminder to me that there are always many good ways to design a space, and what we choose to do is ultimately a result of our own needs and preferences. I love that you followed your own instincts and made the rooms work for you. Gorgeous!

Love all your colors. What is the other wall color in your master bedroom not mentioned. Also what are the two colors in your dining room. Thanks
