Fall Nesting Part 2

Fall has been fun for me this year around my home! I have a small home and sometimes I get overwhelmed when I decorate because I don’t want it feel too cluttered, but I think I made it work! I decided to have a little fun with creating a simple Fall table setting. I wanted to incorporated some things I already had around the house and decorate my table on a small budget.

I decided to make this table setting more of a neutral pallet with a pop of color using my turquoise blue plates. I was able to find some white plates at Home Goods, to incorporate in layers. If you notice, the 2 sets of place settings are layered differently. I did purchase the burlap table runner that will be long enough to use when I make the table larger for Thanksgiving. I already had the 2 candle holders and the greenery. I found the tin can (with a lid that is not shown) to place the foe green plant in, at TJ Max for $3! I also purchased the burlap placemats and 4 neutral colored plate chargers that I can use all year round. The plate chargers were on clearance, 1/2 price at Pier 1. Yay!

I already had 3 pine cone pumpkins I that was using to decorate around the house and wanted to use them to display on the plates. I was short 1 pumpkin! I had bought them weeks before I decided to us them for my table setting. With little hope, knowing that there was little supply of Fall decor left at Michaels, I went back to see, by chance, if there was any pine cone pumpkins left. I searched the isle of Fall leftovers where I had originally found them and there was nothing left. As I went around to the next isle, I just couldn’t believe there was that 1 pine cone pumpkin sitting on the top shelf all by itself. It was like it was just sitting there waiting for me to come back! I laugh at myself thinking, how can I be so excited about this one little thing that made my day! πŸ™‚

I found a set of 3 nesting trays at TJ Max and I thought the largest one would be perfect the centerpiece! And I can repurpose these trays around by home throughout the year.

At the time I purchased the nesting trays, I didn’t even realize they matched 2 of my wood candle pillars that I had purchase about 9 months earlier!

More hints of Fall around the Kitchen.

Changed some slip covers on my furniture and added some Fall decor on the Sun Porch that is off our kitchen.

Happy Fall Everyone!

Thank you for letting me share my Home with you!

Thank you so much Robin! My home is very informal, but I do love to decorate, so I try to make it both welcoming and comfortable. I have a weakness for buying decorative pillows and/or pillow covers! I do reuse my decorative pillows seasonally, but still, I wind up buying more new ones! πŸ™‚

Hi Melissa! Thank you for your kind comments! We do enjoy our Sun Porch very much! I’m actually trying to declutter it and make some subtle changes. I really enjoyed Fall Nesting this year! It gave me something to look forward to other than working and everyday responsibilities. Especially, being able to share my decorating with the friends I made here in this Neighborhood. And I Thank You for that! πŸ™‚ XO

Hi, Maria!. You definitely “made it work” this season! Ha, ha, I’m laughing about the pillows. πŸ™‚ My husband calls me the pillow lady, so I’m glad to know I’m in good company. πŸ™‚ I really like the pine cone pumpkins for your tablescape, as well as the way you’ve incorporated white pumpkins throughout your decor. There are probably Belgian equivalents of TJ Maxx and Michaels, but I just haven’t found them yet. Take care!

Hi Jennifer! Thank you so much! I think I went a little Pumpkin crazy this year too! My family thinks I definitely have an obsession with pillows! I’m already thinking Christmas pillows! I bought 2 new ones last year that I will reuse and I have one hidden in the closet. . . he he! I am trying to refrain . . . maybe just one more! Hope your doing well! πŸ™‚

LOVE the fall decorating Maria! Your home looks lovely. I like how you layered the plates and the tray is great! I still miss having Target in Canada. πŸ™
Count me part of your support group when it comes to pillows. I love the ones in the sun porch. The blue plaid really appeals to me and the pumpkin one is such a nice addition to autumn decor. Why is it our families don’t understand our obsession?! πŸ™‚
I am having a bit of an issue with my seasonal decorating as my apartment is small and I can relate to your concern about it feeling cluttered. My patterned chairs in the living room are a busier pattern than I am use to and so I am planning on a simple Christmas decor…can’t believe I am planning Christmas! I hope to be decorated by December 1st. Wishing you well for the remainder of the fall and an early Happy Thanksgiving!

Thank you so much Nancy! As we are all planning for Thanksgiving here, Christmas has been on my mind for a couple of weeks now. This year I am going to try a different approach to Christmas decorating. Even though I’m planning, I know once I go through my Christmas boxes in the attic, I’m going to feel bad if I don’t put everything out! lol. I was actually just on HGTV’s website and they featured a holiday home with lots of blues in it. You should check it out. It may give you some simple ideas. By the way I love your patterned chairs and I’m sorry I didn’t mention that when I commented about your post! They ARE Beautiful! Thanks for stopping by. I hope to talk to you again soon while we are all preparing for Christmas! πŸ™‚
P.S. Today, I just received by last Christmas pillow purchase for this year. I know I’m going to hear about this one from Hubby. lol

Thanks Maria. I am going to check out the site now. I know what you mean about the treasured decorations from over the years…I have passed them on to my children so I get to enjoy them at their homes. πŸ™‚ After giving them away (convinced I wouldn’t be using them) I started planning a new decor and so …you guessed it! I have started purchasing new ones! I will share the results in December.
