Autumn Touches. . .Outdoors

This year, I just wanted to keep the decorating outdoors to a minimum. I have 4 large planters, 2 on the front steps and 2 on the back yard patio. I wanted to try something a little different with the planters instead of just mums. (Which are still always great Fall touches!) I did buy 3 mums though. It was the first time I bought mums that were still just buds, thinking they were going to be certain colors. I thought I was buying a white mum for the front step and it is just now starting to bloom yellow flowers! Boy, was I wrong! lol.

Sorry about the landscaping. . . It is in desperate need of some TLC! We decided to wait until Spring. Just too much going on!

Below are a couple of photos of our back yard patio planters.

P.S. I am still working on Fall Nesting Part 2. I am putting together

a small DIY project that I wanted to post with the rest of my other indoor photos.

HAPPY FALL EVERYONE!!

Wow, Maria, you are SO creative! Is designing/decorating your home business? I like the gourds next to the planters down the steps….it softens the look of the planters and add pops of color. The design of the planters si great with the height and variety. You’re very talented!

Thank you so much Jean! I LOVE to decorate! I wish I was a Professional Decorator, but my business is in Placemat Advertising. I provide advertising for local businesses and health care providers. We place their Ads on placemats that are then provided to the local diners that I have accounts with. 🙂

I love how you have used the pumpkins (gourds)? We don’t see that kind of decoration here in England. I kind of associate pumpkins with Halloweeen which I really dislike. I think I need to start thinking of them as autumnal.

Thank you Cherie! I used to decorate the inside of the house more for Halloween when my kids were little. Now It’s just Fall decorating, which I am really enjoying this year! 🙂

Your planters are wonderful………particularly love the decorative cabbage!
Next year I plan to incorporate all types of edibles into the baskets………have been working on this increasingly each year. Thanks for the inspiration!

Hi, Maria! Looks like you’re having lots of fun with some fall nesting. Your door wreath looks SO MUCH better than mine! 🙂 Cool way to incorporate small gourds. I particularly like your front yard planters. I haven’t seen any with those wrought iron handles. I like the way they make the classic design a bit rustic. Enjoy!

Thank you Jennifer! Your wreath is definitely more special because you made yours! I bought mine this year. I used to make my own wreaths all the time. I’m feeling a little guilty. 🙂

Thank you so much Hanh! I really like how the stores have been selling the differently color pumpkins and gourds locally, over the past few years. It makes decorating so much more fun! 🙂
